vocals, gitaar, contrabas, clawhammer-banjo, autoharp, tin whistle Elly had al een voorkeur voor folk en mooie ballads toen zij als 15-jarige op schoolfeestjes haar Joan Baez-imitaties ten beste gaf. Na een aantal jaren in de Ierse muziek te hebben rondgezworven, verloor ze haar hart aan een banjoïst en deed de bluegrass-muziek zijn intrede. Gedurende een tiental jaren speelde ze in het succesvolle trio Reckless Fingers en maakt ze inmiddels deel uit van verschillende bluegrass- en folkformaties.

After playing Irish folk music for some years, she lost her heart to a banjo player and bluegrass music entered her life. For over 10 years she played with her husband in the successful trio 'Reckless Fingers'. These days Elly plays in several bluegrass and folk bands, including that of UK-based folk singer Bram Taylor. |
